There are many street dogs that spend entire years living in front of humans as if they were invisible. Some furry ones are lucky enough to become community pets or even be adopted by a family.
Unfortunately, many are ignored by everyone and face a life full of difficulties. This was the fate of a dog named Helen who had to face the hardships of the streets of Romania.
A tourist who went to a town did not take long to notice that the dog lived in precarious conditions . She had a cardboard box that made her bed paper but her look was terribly sad .
The woman talked to the neighbors to see if the little furry had an owner and hearing her story made her heart wrinkle. Helen had spent long years on the streets. Several cars had injured her and she barely managed to get food.
Fortunately, Helen had met the right person . The tourist did not have the means to help her but she decided to contact the Howl of a Dog rescuers .
They looked for her and stayed by her side for hours trying to gain her trust.
He was so scared of humans that it was obvious he hadn’t had a good time on the streets. However, her life was about to change.
A visit to the vet revealed that his health was truly delicate. She had many ticks and she was diagnosed with canine anaplasmosis.
This caused pain in the joints, chills, fever and a lot of discomfort. Fortunately, she had been rescued just in time and she began receiving treatment immediately .
It was a difficult situation but the beautiful Helen showed that she had a lot of strength.
Months later, Evelyn Hendrickx and her family opened their doors to show Helen that she deserved a happy life as a pet.
Since then, the dog does nothing but spend the whole day playing with the children of the family and offering kisses of gratitude to all her humans.
Now, the hard days of living on the streets are a thing of the past. This beautiful dog has learned what it means to have a bed, toys and most important of all: a family . The tourist who crossed her path changed her life forever.
