Never underestimate the will of a dog or cat when they decide to cling to life and fight for survival . On many occasions, we have shared with you the truly overwhelming situations of small animals that were almost dying and were able to rise through adversity with love and courage.
Today we are going to share Ralph’s story. It is one of those puppies that has reached such a fragile state of health that when you see it, you simply cannot explain how the little animal was able to continue to live despite so many hardships. bear.
Ralph was in the street, waiting for his last breath to come to him at any moment.
Ralph was rescued by members of the Sidewalk Specials. They received a warning about a pet in a really unfortunate condition. It can be said that the small animal is only one step away from leaving the other world , if not for the volunteers to arrive at the right time to win the race with death.
Just seeing Ralph on the street makes my heart ache . His whole body was covered with scabies, his hair fell out unbelievably, and his ribs were completely exposed due to severe malnutrition, as well as severe dehydration.
His boredom and uneasiness was such that he had no strength left to fight the rescuers.
His expression was indeed a puddle of sadness and he was so sick and hungry that Ralph had lost all his strength . For members of Sidewalks Specials, it’s easy to take it with you. The puppy does not have the energy to attack its benefactor, much less resist.
It was very easy for the rescuer to wrap a strap around Ralph’s neck and carry him away. This simple gesture would be the true beginning of a new life for this little animal , but the most difficult part was still missing: would the puppy be able to survive his recovery?
Ralph is an example of how important the desire to live is, no matter how bad you are.
The process to heal Ralph began . Indeed, he was in very poor condition. Not only was it severe scabies, malnutrition and dehydration, he also had an eye infection and other ailments that needed to be treated.
Ralph’s weakness was such that he could not ingest food or water on his own , so he received constant attention, in which rescuers had to hydrate and feed him with the help of a syringe and other implements.
He received hydration and feeding manually… such was his weakness!
The sadness that radiated from his gaze was such that at times they thought they would never see him happy , animated or sharing his love with people again, but they did not lose hope and neither did Ralph.
The puppy lived up to the commitment and with love, dedication and patience he managed to get ahead . It took him a few days, a few weeks, but there was no rush, the only important thing is that Ralph’s peace of mind and well-being come at some point and that’s how it happened.
What Ralph revealed next was a wonderful personality . He was a playful, happy puppy, full of life. They knew immediately that in the face of such sweetness and enthusiasm, very soon the right family would want to share their life with him, and so it was.
Now in a loving forever home with a best friend named Lola, Ralph is living his best life. And to be alive after all he had to go through is a miracle in itself!
Today Lola accompanies him in his new home and is a dog… unrecognizable!
