They didn’t even feel secure when holding him since he appeared to snap at the least pressure

In July last year, Dylan, a poor Saluki, was found lying on the side of the road near Bridgend, UK.

He was in a really precarious situation  and his salvation was almost a miracle. Those who saved him at the time did not believe that he would make it through the first night, the dog was malnourished, curled up and alone.

We warn that the images below may hurt some people’s sensibilities…

It’s good that someone came and saved his life!

The rescuers assured that they had never found an animal in such a critical and delicate state . They didn’t even feel safe holding him, for he seemed on the verge of breaking at the slightest touch. Each movement put the life of the poor and defenseless little boy at risk.

The images of Dylan right after he was found are startling and heartbreaking . I really don’t understand how a living being can be ignored for so long until it reaches these conditions . He is inhuman!

Fortunately, there are still people like Butt Bryan, the man who found Dylan abandoned on the road and brought him to the Croft Rescue Center.

The dog was recovering its ideal weight very slowly, they also had to treat it for scabies .

Everyone is proud of how this brave animal has progressed.

Rachel Hayball, a girl who works at the animal center where Dylan was, shared with him his entire recovery process and assured that they had never seen a dog in such poor condition .

“You think this kind of thing happens in places like Thailand, but it happens even in countries that have everything, even there is SO MUCH missing…”

“ Someone out there had starved him to death and then left him to die somewhere else. How did he get there? We just don’t know,” Rachel said.

The blow to see Dylan about to die must have been very hard. The most painful thing about all of this is that despite his physical recovery, there must be emotional scars that will never fully heal . This dog was physically and mentally abused.

Dogs are wonderful animals, they surprise humans more every day. They are brave and above all noble, capable of forgiving and giving love despite having suffered in the past.

Dylan did not give up, he fought against death and today he can enjoy a new life with Professor Jamie Birch , who adopted him as soon as he was recovered.

Dylan found a home!

“It’s amazing how Dylan survived what happened and he certainly shouldn’t be as loving and gentle as he is given his ordeal,” Jamie said.

Dylan was saved and that makes me so happy, but I can’t help thinking that just as he was mistreated and left to his fate, the same goes for many other helpless dogs around the world.

A pet is not an ornament, it is a living being that needs attention, care and love. How does one abandon an animal and be able to sleep peacefully? I wish everyone had the gift of loyalty: the best virtue of all dogs.

Please share Dylan’s story and help us raise awareness about animal cruelty.
