Fortunately, the fate of many puppies was changed after they were rescued by the SPCA during an anti-dog campaign in Able Springs, Texas . Madeline Yeaman witnessed the sad scene while walking around where all the puppies were jumping for attention.
Oddly enough, all but one were so excited, that’s when Madeline saw a horribly thin and dehydrated dog in the distance .
Our main character is a small pitbull dog.
The dog has a giant collar attached to a chain from some old car part.
As if that wasn’t enough, there wasn’t any kind of shade where he could shield himself from the sun. The dog’s health condition is very critical, it can’t even move on its own, it is on the verge of death .
Malnourished and in front of the wide open door of death, she decides to fight to survive.
When rescuers arrived, the dog was so weak that it took a long time to get up .
The vet examined her and commented that there was no blood pumping through her veins . She was quickly taken to a shelter and they began a long process of rehab.
They named the sweet dog Gwen Stefani.
The first thing they did was heal the wounds on her neck due to the pressure of the collar, Gwen was infested with fleas and ticks , so she received special treatment to combat the parasites.
It was necessary to perform multiple blood transfusions, she received a diet of proteins and vitamins, and plenty of water to hydrate her.
The recovery of the dog was gradually but satisfactory.
Little by little the sweet dog was gaining strength , began to walk alone and act like a normal puppy. Her rescuers comment on it:
“I was no longer Gwen lethargic and hopeless. She greets everyone with a wavy body, wagging tail and a pitbull smile.”
The change the dog brought was amazing, not only her body was healed but her spirit also started to shine . Gwen currently enjoys a loving home, she loves running, bathing and getting all the attention. Thanks to everyone who made this transformation, they not only saved Gwen’s life but also the lives of other puppies that suffered unjust treatment .
