Man Ignores His Birthday Party To Rescue Dog From Drowning In River

Gabe Castellanos, 38, was enjoying his out-of-door birthday party near New York’s East River when a commotion from the water garnered his attention. He looked toward the noise and realized that a black and white dog was struggling in the water.

While the bystanders just watched the poor dog struggle, Gabe sprung into action. He snappily headed toward the pier, exfoliate his pants down to his undergarments, and also put on a life jacket before jumping into the water.

He swam to the dog and tried to snare her, but she quickly turned and bit him in the face and his hand. Ignoring his own blood and pain, he purposefully continued to push the dog until reaching the safety of the reinforcement.

Bystanders cheered the two on. When ashore, the dog was ultimately reunited with her proprietor and the aft story of her terrible and important day came out.

Supposedly the dog, named Harper, escaped from her dog’s cage and was hit by a car. No one knows how she ended up in the swash but thankfully due to the frippery of Gabe, was saved from nearly drowning.

Gabe attributes his capability to save the dog to his ocean survival chops he learned in council. Indeed also, he didn’t escape injury. He has a bite on his hand, face, and the dog knocked him in the teeth so he now is witnessing dental form.

We’re sorry that Gabe got hurt, but so happy that Harper is okay. Gabe’s actions that day made her owner extremely grateful and we ’re sure that Harper is, too.
