Mugsy is one of those little animals that just looking at you can tell that it has a traumatic past and your heart is broken. A fluffy girl has inspired and mobilized thousands of people. Here is his amazing story.
This adorable little dog lives with her family in Iran, where they named her Hapoochi (little dog in Iranian). But at one unfortunate time in her life, the worst happened to her: a horrific acid attack left her completely disfigured.
However, the circumstances by which the poor furry woman ended up being attacked in that way are unknown, it is only known that it was with a corrosive cleaning liquid.
The accident caused Hapoochi to lose an eye, nose and part of an ear.
The truth was that the dog needed emergency surgery to survive. But her family did not have enough financial assets to afford the high cost of all the treatments Hapoochi needed. It was then that within her deep pain, they decided to put her to sleep, they had no other choice.
But luckily, a kind soul, a volunteer veterinarian from the animal rescue organization Persian Paws Rescue, showed up in time to save the dog’s life.
The little girl was barely a month and a half old and the vet decided to assume the expenses on her own. She proceeded to completely remove the missing eye to spare him all pain.
Once her life was no longer in danger, she was put up for adoption and her story reached the ears of Sam Taylor, a young woman from Canada. Immediately, she knew that she had to give it a try.
“She looks like Voldemort, but she has the heart of Harry Potter and his friends. The photos online were very, very graphic. I read the story and said to myself: Oh, I really want to help this little dog! She now she is spoiled and very loved, ”recognizes Sam.
So this warrior was given the opportunity of a new home and traveled from Iran to Canada 10,000 km to be part of a new family, where she would receive all the love and care. But Sam knew she had a long way to go.
To begin with, Sam wanted to change her name so that all her past was left behind and decided to call her Mugsy.
She underwent several surgeries that allowed her to breathe better and others to repair the damage to her little ears. It was all to improve her quality of life, however, her appearance will no longer change. And that’s the most moving thing about this story, Sam adores her as she is, because not even Mugsy herself is aware of all the goodness and tenderness inside her.
Sam has shown herself to be an owner who doesn’t mind if she has to sell all of her belongings in order to make Mugsy’s life better.
He has revealed that the total cost of the dog’s pending surgeries amounts to a total of 10 thousand dollars, for which he has created a GoFundMe page , without imagining that thousands of people would be so moved by his story. You can also help her by clicking here.
