Frightened rescue dog finds comfort in her 11-month-old loyal friend

Meet adorable duo Nora the dog and 11-month-old baby Archie. They’ve been best friends since the first day day they met.

Archie’s mom Elizabeth Spence says that 8-year-old English pointer Nora, “came from an abusive background and is afraid of almost everything” — except little Archie.

Archie and Nora are always together. The baby provides a sense of safety, security, and comfort to the traumatized dog.

“If Archie is having a bath, Nora is lying on the bath mat waiting for him to get out. If I’m nursing him she wants up on my lap, too. If he’s going through my cupboards throwing all the dishes on the floor, she’ll be there cheering him on.”

Elizabeth says her son is “an extremely laid-back, happy, good-natured baby”, which draws Nora (and the family’s other rescue pets) to his side.

And Elizabeth has dedicated much of her time to documenting the cuddles (and occasional chaos) these two enjoy together.

Archie and Nora dress up, play together in the family den, and always snuggle up together for their afternoon nap.

With Archie’s help, Nora has learned that, despite coming from a bad place, a great friend can help you overcome almost anything.
